Happy Last Week of School! It is definitely bittersweet! Here's a few reminders of things coming up.... 1. Field Day is tomorrow during our normal specials time. Please remember to wear comfortable tennis shoes. 2. If you still have library books, bring them to school ASAP! 3. If you volunteered on Friday, thank you so much! If you took any pictures, please email them to me at [email protected]. I"d love to get them in the student's memory books. 4. For those of you who are in extended day, Wednesday is not early release. School is out at 2:35. 5. Our last day of school is Thursday. Here are a few pictures from the zoo :)
Wow, I can't believe it's already the 3rd of June! This year has flown by! Between the end of school and planning for my wedding at the end of the month, I've been crazy busy! Here are a few reminders as we wrap up the end of the year.
1. Our field trip is on Friday. I apologize to the parents who are unable to chaperone who wanted to. We can only have a certain number of volunteers and I had a lot of parents who wanted to come. 2. Tuesday is Field Day and the students will be playing games outside. Please make sure they are wearing appropriate shoes. 3. Thursday is the Last Day of School for Kindergarten. 4. Library is now over. If you still have books at home, please bring them school as soon as possible! 5. Report Cards will be mailed home the week after school gets out. **Reminders: 1. There is No School on Monday May 25th for Memorial Day. 2. Our last day of library is May 28th. Please make sure all books are returned before or on that day. 3. We will be taking a field trip to the Oregon Zoo on Friday June 5th! 4. Tuesday June 9th will be Field Day. 5. The last day of school for kinders is Thursday June 11th. Literacy/Math: During these last few weeks of school, I will be completing many end of the year assessments. The students will need to know all their letter names and sounds, be able to count to 100, write 0-30, and identify numbers 0-20. Please make sure you are practicing at home as well, so they stay ready for 1st grade! We are also starting a mini unit on the zoo to get ready for our Field Trip!
**Reminders: 1. Our last day of library is May 28th. Please make sure all books are returned before or on that day. 2. There is no school on Monday May 25th for Memorial Day. 3. We will be taking a field trip to the Oregon Zoo on Friday June 5th! You must return the permission form to me or your student will not be able to go! 4. Tuesday June 9th will be Field Day. 5. The last day of school for kinders is Thursday June 11th. Content: Our big highlight of the day today was that we got to release our butterflies! We arrived at school this morning and they were all hatched and flying around the cage. The students had fun watching them fly off and we even got to see our late bloomer hatch in front of us! Our caterpillars have now all turned into chrysalis! We are anxiously awaiting their change into butterflies! **Reminders: 1. No School on Monday May 25th for Memorial Day. 2. Our students still need 1 point before they earn a pajama party. We have lost points a couple times, but they're working hard! Literacy: 1. Our caterpillars have arrived! The students are super excited about them! They will grow into Painted Lady Butterflies and we will get to watch them create chrysalis and hatch. In a few weeks we will release them outside. I can't believe it is the 1st of May already! We only have 27 days left of school this year. **Reminders: 1. No School Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day Literacy: 1. We have officially started our Butterfly Unit. Today we read a National Geographic Kids book and were introduced to the butterfly life cycle. As a class we completed a chart and then each student created their own life cycle. 2. We also read a Butterfly book in a small group and talked about the pictures and read the story. |
